Offspring report
Offspring 1986 (foals)
Zirkoon showed a collection of well-developed foals. They have a good front and are sufficient riding type. It must be noted that the selected group was more typey and had more quality than the picked foals. The foals have a good, appealing head with a clear eye. The neck is well formed and is carried well, making the good head/neck connection noticeable. The wither is sufficiently long but still has to grow out. Though there were a few straight shoulders in the picked group, the shoulder is generally good in placement and length. The back is sometimes a little long, but it is well muscled with strong connections. The croup is also well muscled and well formed. The foreleg is correct with a generously built knee. The hindleg is often a little long with a small angle. Otherwise the base is well developed with sufficient quality and good feet. The selected foals have a good walk, while the walk of picked foals could have more suppleness and scope. The trot of selected foals was generally big and easy with sufficient power from behind, but in the first group the foals should be able to push better from behind. Zirkoon produces better foals with thoroughbred mares.
In short: Well-developed, sufficient riding type foals with a rich front and sufficient to good movement.
Shown: 15 foals out of 68 breedings.

Performance test report
Performance Ermelo 1984
Friendly, obedient with good humor. Honest and rather nervous. He was green at the start of the test. In the beginning his too quick, then rolled himself up and would not get on the bit. He was heavy during this period. As the test went on the extended his neck better and started using his back better. At the end of the test he only fell back on his old faults once in a while. During the entire test he was somewhat tense the beginning of each day. That tenseness disappeared after riding him with a loose rein for a while. In the beginning of the test the walk was sufficient but searching and sometimes had a tendency to be lateral, the walk improved later on. The trot is easy and light. The good, scopey canter is sometimes too deep. Free jumping is good. He shows a great deal of scope while jumping under saddle. He jumps well in cross-country and has a big gallop. He is rather tense in front of the sled. He is more than sufficiently willing to work and finds the work normal. He has much talent for dressage, jumping and cross-country. He was in good condition upon arrival. He got more feed than normal. Stall behavior is calm.
