Offspring report

Offspring 1986 (foals)
The foals by this stallion that are shown are sufficiently developed. The foals vary in type, the picked foals generally had little riding type but the selected foals were clearly better in this respect. The head is well formed and sufficiently expressive. The picked foals had a neck that came rather deep from the chest and there were also a few with a heavy neck. The selected foals had a better shape of the neck but there were also a few that were deep from the chest. The wither is generally short. The shoulder has sufficient length it is often a bit straight. The back and loin formation is well muscled and has good connections. The well-muscled croup has good shape though several times the tail set is a bit high. The stance of the foreleg is often straight and back at the knee, especially with the picked foals. The selected foals had a better foreleg. There was also a difference in the build of the hindleg between the two groups of foals. The picked foals had a sickle-hocked hindleg; though better, there were some selected foals that were also slightly sickle-hocked. The walk is sufficient to good. There was again a difference between the two groups when it came to the trot. The picked foals often pushed from behind and should use the knee more. The selected foals trotted with bigger and easier with sufficient balance and regularity and there were even a few foals that moved especially well. Most of the foals were in excessive condition and should have more quality in the legs.
In short: A varying collection in regards to type and movement. The hindleg is strongly sickle-hocked.
Shown: 15 foals out of 61 breedings.
