Offspring report

Offspring 1989 (foals)
This Westfalen bred stallion showed very well developed foals that have well developed rumps with width and depth. The foals appear to be of sufficient riding type build. The head varies, some are a little long with a somewhat coarse jaw, and others are expressive. In general the head/poll formation should be more refined. The poll has good length but sometimes has poor muscling. In general they evolve into a good neck. However, several times the neck was set-on low. But again there were other times that the neck was clearly good, with a nice topline. The wither has good length and development. The shoulder has sufficient length but should often have more slope. The back is well muscled; the loins are well connected, but sometimes poorly muscled. The croup is well formed and well muscled, it also has the desired width. On the average the foreleg is correct, but there are several cases where the stance is straight and in a few cases, back at the knee. In a few cases the hindleg is long. The legs have sufficient quality. The walk is stiff but does have more than sufficient scope. The trot also has sufficient scope but the hindleg does not come underneath energetically. In all cases the foals trot with a flat foreleg, but there is tact and good suspension. The foals really present themselves in the trot. Some foals trot out and out well. On the whole the trot does not flow through the body. One of the picked foals was inspected at home and it appeared to have a moderate hindleg and trotted insufficiently because of the long pastern.
In short: well developed foals with width and depth. They are in sufficient rectangular model. The trot is big with flat use of the foreleg.
Shown: 35 foals out of 181 breedings.
