Opium showed a uniform collection of moderate to sufficiently developed, moderate riding type foals in sufficient rectangular model.
In general the head is moderately expressive. The foals have long ears. The poll is generally short. The neck length varies from moderate to sufficient, while the shape of the neck and the muscling of the neck are both moderate. The wither has good length and sufficient development. The shoulder is sufficient in length, bug often straight. The back is well formed. The loins are moderately connected and sufficiently muscled.
The croup is short in general and sufficient in placement. The hamstring has sufficient length. The foreleg varies, but in general has straight pasterns. The stance of the foreleg is repeatedly toed-out. The hindleg varies, but in general has straight pasterns. The base varies from being developed moderately to coarse. The legs should have more quality. The foals lack power and suppleness. The canter has sufficient scope but is stiff. The foals lack balance in the canter.
Details: Two foals were irregular. On foal had a hernia of the scrotum and one a hernia of the navel.
The quality of the mares was moderate.
