Offspring report

Offspring 1983 (foals)
This stallion showed a collection of very well developed foals with strong rumps. The foals appear to be good riding type, the selected foals more so. In general they are the picture of breeding horses. The foals out of mares with thoroughbred blood are a little more refined. The head is well formed, hard and lean, sometimes a little long. The neck has a good topline and also has good shape and shows a nice, long poll. The wither has sufficient length but is not totally developed. The shoulder length and placement are good with a good connection to the rump. The back is sometimes a bit long but otherwise shows good connections; the loins are also well connected. The croup is long, wide and muscled with a long hamstring. The picked foals could have a wider croup. The build and stance of the foreleg are good with a developed knee. The hindleg is often a little long and cow hocked. The hock could be finished more tightly. The quality of the legs could be a little more appealing in general, meaning they could be a little leaner. The walk is more than good, easy and scopey with a hindquarter than comes underneath well. The trot is very good with a hindquarter that comes underneath well and a lot of balance.
Shown: 23 foals out of 104 breedings.
Approval term 1990
First approved for a term of three years on the basis of:
a. the approval of 6 stallions, of which 4 still service the breeding program;
b. the fact, as determined by the keuring reports, that the stallion has a positive influence on conformation of his offspring: 174 studbook mares of which 77 became ster and 13 keur
c. the fact, as determined by linear scoring, that the stallion has a positive influence on the trot of his offspring
d. the fact, as determined by the index, that the offspring can perform well in dressage, witness the 121 points with an already reasonably good reliability.
Keur 1995
With high reliability (both 91%) this stallion scored 110 pints for jumping and 122 points for dressage. That fact, combined with the observation that he has produced six approved sons as well as a high percentage of star and keur mares, was the deciding factor for the keur predicate. An important contribution was the fact that the stallion has at least four offspring at Grand Prix level and three right under that level. Moreover he has two international jumpers under his auspices. He scores high as a conformation sire in regards to scope and suppleness.
