Offspring report

Offspring 1983 (foals)
Triton, who caries a lot of thoroughbred blood, showed a uniform collection of good to very well developed foals. The foals made a nice picture of forward build types with refinement, hardness and quality. The heads are hard, lean and well formed. In general the neck has good shape and muscling, a few are deep from the chest and/or a little heavy. The wither is well developed and has good length. The shoulder placement and length are excellent. The back is good and the loins are well connected. Most of the foals have a well-formed, long and muscled croup. With a few exceptions the foreleg is poor, often tied in under the knee with a fine build. The pastern is often long and the stance is a little weak. Several of the feet should be more developed. The hindleg is mostly long, with a small angle in the hock. The bone quality of the legs is generally good. The walk is good with suppleness and scope. The trot is noticeably elastic, light with sufficient scope. The power from the hindquarter could be improved upon. The foals should carry more in the trot. In general the foals were with good mares.
Shown: 10 foals out of 19 breedings.
