Accredited KWPN 2003: The Swedish dressage stallion was accredited for KWPN breeding by the stallion committee. He has passed the veterinary requirements and was himself, as was a collection of offspring, presented to the stallion committee.
Originally a Hanoverian line from August Köser. The Hanoverian stallions Schwabenkönig I 2601 (1921, s. Schwabenstreigh) Ldb Celle 1924-1939 and II 2602 (1923) Ldb Celle 1927-1939 are also out of this line. Spinda was imported into Sweden in 1924 and is recognized as the foremother of the Swedish fam Flyinge (F) 2.
Conformation (Sweden)
Jury report (4-yr old): well developed, masculine, long lined, long neck, long and well positioned shoulder, long croup. He is a little toed out in front. The walk is short and the trot has tact. Conformation: 109778 = 41
Own Performance
Briar was rated AB after his first performance test in 1995. Briar placed high in the Breeder"s Trophy 1996 (3rd) and 1997 (2nd). In 1998 he was 2nd in the championship for 7-yr olds. He also placed in several international S tests. He started the 2000 Olympic Games in Sidney as the youngest competitor (9th). In 2001 he finished in 7th place in the finals for the World Cup and in 10th at the European Championships, where he again was the youngest competitor. He won the Swedish Championships, both in the GP and the GPS. In 2001 he was the highest placed stallion in the international rankings (5th).
His offspring have been exported to Denmark, Norway, Holland, Great Britain, USA and Russia. He has 9 offspring that are competing in dressage and 2 in jumping. In the BLUP has 13 offspring with a dressage index of 145 and a jumping index of 146. He is also accredited for Hanover and Oldenburg.
