Offspring report
Offspring 2000 (foals)
The stallion Biotop showed a uniform collection of more than sufficiently to very well developed riding type foals in good rectangular model that have a lot of appeal.
The head is generally expressive. The poll is long and shaped well. The neck is long, well formed and generally well muscled. The wither is long and sufficiently developed. The shoulder has good length and sufficient placement. The back has good length and muscling. In a few cases the back is hollow. The loins have good length, are well connected and well muscled. The croup is long, sloping and well muscled. The hamstring has barely sufficient length. The foreleg is correct. In a few cases the pastern is long and weak. The hindleg is generally angled. The base is generally well developed and has quality. The walk is moderate to sufficiently pure and has sufficient scope. The trot has much scope and suppleness. The foals have much bend in the hindleg and show sufficient posture but should be able to do transitions better. The foals should be able to jump into the canter more easily. The canter is big. The foreleg remains tight.
Veterinary remarks: One time a deviating hock was observed in a foal and it should have been better finished in another foal.
The quality of the mares was more than sufficient.
Shown: 10 foals out of 22 breedings.

KWPN Accreditation 1999 (at the start if the breeding season)
The international Grand Prix dressage horse Biotop has been accredited for the KWPN breeding program. This breeding product of the Russian Trakehner stud Kirow was a part of the German A-team under his owner Dr. Reiner Klimke. Proof of his accomplishments is his individual bronze medals in the 1995 and 1996 German Championships. Biotop reached fourth place in the World Cup finals during the 1995/96 winter season. On the basis of his results in sport Biotop earned 50th place in the BCM rankings. The accreditation means that Biotop meets all the criteria for KWPN approved stallions. Joop van Uytert, who will have the stallion"s semen available the coming season, made the request to accredit the stallion.
1995
1st approval Trakehner Verband in Münster. "The highlight of this keuring was the presentation of the 10-year old Trakehner stallion Biotop that was bred in Kirow. A few days prior he got a 2nd place in the Neumünster Grand Prix and he was 3rd in the Volvo World Cup qualifier. At this point he and Donnerhall are tied for 2nd place in the European league. This means he has a good chance for the Volvo World Cup Finals in California. The most successful dressage rider of all time took the opportunity to present this stallion himself. It was followed by the presentation under saddle, a very successful presentation that won the approval from the audience.
Dr. Klimke discovered Biotop three years ago in Belgium and later got him in his possession. Worldwide Biotop belongs to the best and most successful dressage horses of his age. Wherever he performs - this extraordinary horse immediately has the audience"s sympathy because he leaves no one untouched. In 1993 and 1994 Biotop and his owner earned 15 championships, including the Grand Prix and the Grand Prix Special, and he placed more than 30 times. Biotop was successfully inspected and in so doing placed himself in the row of stallions approved for the Trakehner breeding program such as: Trafaret, Topki, Almox Prints and Hockey, who were also born in Kirow and all carry the blood of the unforgettable Priboj ox. It goes without saying that his sport career is of the greatest import and for the time being Dr. Klimke will not be breeding his stallion." (Trakehner Hefte, April 1995)
