The KWPN has two aptitude tests: the IBOP, which is open to all breeding directions, and the EPTM, which is offered for jumping, dressage, and Gelder horse breeding. By achieving sufficient scores in an aptitude test, a horse can obtain the IBOP or EPTM predicate.

These aptitude tests are designed to provide insight into a horse’s natural ability for sport. By participating in an aptitude test, the breeder receives additional information about the horse’s qualities. A jury evaluates, among other things, movement and aptitude for sport.

The IBOP and EPTM predicates are particularly important for horses that do not compete in sport. For horses with sport results, competition performance already provides insight into their suitability for sport. The evaluation criteria for IBOP and EPTM are the same; the difference lies in the preparation and the frequency of assessment. Both aptitude tests are open to mares and geldings.
