When you have a mare with which you want to breed a foal, careful stallion selection is of great importance. To make a well-founded choice, reliable information about the qualities of your mare is essential. The studbook inspection is an important source of insight in this process.

During the studbook inspection, the jury makes an initial assessment of the mare’s conformation, movement, and functional build. This evaluation provides insight into both the strengths and the points of attention of the horse. The recorded data, through breeding values, not only supports your individual breeding decisions but also contributes to the further development and progress of KWPN breeding as a whole.

A functionally and correctly built horse has a clear advantage in terms of health, durability, and ease of use. The better the horse’s body is aligned with the demands placed upon it, the more easily and sustainably it can perform its work.

Aanmelden via Mijn KWPN

KWPN regions annually organize studbook inspections, home inspections, and Central Inspections. As a KWPN member, you can register your mare for these via Mijn KWPN. Participation is not limited to your own region. However, if a mare is presented for the studbook inspection in a particular region, any subsequent Central Inspection will also take place in that same region.
