The KWPN pursues a proactive and progressive welfare policy. Health and welfare form the foundation of our breeding and selection programme. We strive for horses that are physically and mentally balanced, enabling them to perform with enjoyment and remain sustainably usable. Although we are gaining an increasing understanding of what horses need to function well, it is also clear that there is still much to discover, particularly in the areas of behaviour and mental resilience. That is why the KWPN continues to invest in knowledge, education and responsible breeding policies.
Welfare starts with conscious choices. Neglect caused by a lack of knowledge can be prevented, and the KWPN sees it as its responsibility to help breeders, owners and users make healthy and responsible decisions.
